Winding the clock right back to circa 1998, we hold fond memories of this project. Faced with a sombre and sensitive subject, our approach gently lightens the mood with naive-style illustrations that reflect a broad cross-section of the community – spanning diverse ethnicities, genders, ages, and family structures. This strips back layers of complex detail to a more generalised, personable context – conveyed in a warm, congenial tone.
