We love collaboration! And it’s especially rewarding to work with Aboriginal artists to showcase their artwork on corporate documents that represent their community or Land Council and align with the principles of the Australian Indigenous Design Charter.
This adds an authentic layer to the design process and boosts engagement in sharing the message. In all cases, we ensure the artist is on board with our treatment of their work, and they are acknowledged as the artist.
From a visual standpoint, the artwork guides the document’s overall tone and storytelling. We are mindful of text placement, especially over important symbols, and we seriously avoid stereotypical ‘tribal’ fonts.
Where artwork isn’t available, we keep it simple with earthy colours and image treatments inspired by Country, such as stylised elements of flora and fauna found in the region.
